It is with great sadness that NNYO this Easter learned of the death of former board director, Leif Værum
Larsen. Leif Værum Larsen
has meant much to the orchestra's development and for recruitment to the professional Norwegian music scene over many years. He was a member of the orchestra board for
14 years, and was director from 2002 - 2009. During his time as director, the orchestra experienced an economic and artistic success that can can be seen as a tribute to
his work for the education of young musicians. His death came abruptly and unexpectedly, and our thoughts go to his wife and two children at this difficult time.
